Did you know models often wear shapewear on the runway?

I just had to tell you about this news story I saw on TV!  It was a fashion parade and the camera's  were backstage and there were all the models standing around in shapewear..yes...those beautiful perfect bodies were wearing shapewear.  I could not believe my eyes.  I thought that these girls were selected because they had perfect bodies...and many of them do from what I could see..but I suppose what it tells us is that everyone has a few flaws in the bod shape and to get the look that the designers want to show us they needed the girls to wear products to smooth them out..no lumps or bumps and firm them up.

I really was surprised to see this as I had no idea that models on runways wore shapewear.  I then did a little more research and found that not only models but many many female celebs wear some form of shapewear when they go out also.

So here we are the unsuspecting public trying to figure out how we can look as good as a celeb or a model and wondering why they don't seem to have any little bulges over the back of the bra or around the middle like we all do?

I found these little slips that look great on and smooth you out and so I had to share this with you, they are $24.99 each and come in 3 colours, Black, White and Beige and sizes range from Small to XXX Large so a size for all.  They are comfortable to wear and really do help with those little bumps we all want to hide..it is not a corset so don't expect a corset effect..just a gentle pull in and smoothing effect.  I love mine and wear it when ever I feel I want to look good and be confident that I do look good.

Brides to be will love the White Slips !

5 Things Your Makeup Artist Wants You To Know!

5 Things Your Makeup Artist Wants You to Know!

Everyone’s heard the expression that the high school formal is ‘all about the dress’, so why do we see so many young ladies arriving to one of the biggest nights of their lives looking like they’re auditioning for a role on Jersey Shore?
Big hair and plastered on make-up may work for you if you’re on a reality TV show, but in the real world too much makeup and bad hair can ruin your night of celebration. So what should a girl do to make sure her make-up enhances, rather than detracts from her outfit?
We asked professional make up artist Lauren Nolan for some tips to ensure you look the best on your big night. She believes that too many people fail to prepare their faces for their big night out, and that with just a little time each day doing some basic steps, young ladies can really improve the end result.
Lauren believes that these simple strategies listed below should be part of everyone’s beauty routine, and she recommends all girls make a special effort to take action about 8 weeks prior to their Makeup Artist arriving to apply their makeup.
”If you are going to invest in a dress for your big night, it’s also worth considering investing in a professional makeup artist to complete the finishing touches,” says Lauren. “By actioning these 5 recommendations will ensure you have a beautiful outcome.”

Here are Lauren’s - 5 Things Your Makeup Artist Wants You to Know!
  1. Have your eyebrows waxed and shaped by a Professional – not your best friend please! Do this at least 1 week before the big night.
  2. 8 weeks before the big night set up a good skincare routine if you do not have one.  Invest in some good quality natural skincare – try Bellaboo it is designed for young skin and is not expensive
  3. Cleanse your skin morning and night so your skin will glow with a healthy radiance
  4. Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate, do you get the hint? This is one of the most important things you should do to get rid of dead skin cells and dry skin patches.  Exfoliate at least twice a week before the formal, however, do not exfoliate on the day - the last time you exfoliate should be the day before.
  5. Moisturise your skin at least once a day, preferably twice a day and always before applying makeup to your skin.  Bellaboo Gorgeous Skin Moisture Dew is a non-greasy product and it works well on young skin so give it a try.
If you follow these simple steps to prepare for your High School Formal then your Makeup Artist will have beautifully a polished canvas to work on and the end results will be simply stunning. Remember: If the formal dress is the cake, a girl’s makeup and hair are the icing.

We talked to our favorite Makeup Artist in Melbourne Lauren Nolan and asked her to give us her tips on what she wants everyone of her clients to do to prepare..so here is the first of the Tips:
No.1.  TIP - Have your eye brows professionally waxed and shaped at least 1 week before your makeup to ensure the skin under the brow has had time to settle down.  DO NOT have a girl friend wax or pluck your eye brows as this is rarely a good idea.  Let the professionals who have been trained do this for you and you will be glad that you did.  Badly shaped or over plucked eye brows can really ruin a makeup and they show up in the photos!

Lauren's advice is solid as  she has been in the Beauty business for more than 15 years and has loads of valuable experience in the industry.  If you need a makeup Artist in Victoria and you would like to contact Lauren just click on this link.  Email your contact details, name and address.
